How to perform daily maintenance and upkeep on concrete mixing pumps?

2025-05-28 16:29:15

Concrete mixing pumps integrate mixing and conveying functions and are key equipment for improving the efficiency of construction. Standardized daily maintenance can extend its service life, reduce failure rate and maintenance costs, and ensure stable operation of the equipment. So, how to perform daily maintenance and upkeep on concrete mixing pumps?

Cleaning work

After the daily construction is completed, the concrete mixing pump must be thoroughly cleaned first. Use a high-pressure water gun or water pipe to flush the mixing drum, hopper, conveying pipeline and other components to remove residual concrete. In particular, a cleaning ball can also be used to clean the pumping pipeline to ensure that no concrete lumps remain. Incomplete cleaning may cause the concrete to harden, increase the burden on the equipment, and even damage the components.

Lubrication system

The lubrication system is essential for the smooth operation of the equipment. Check the lubrication system regularly to ensure that the lubricating oil flows smoothly and avoid component wear caused by improper lubrication. The lubrication pump needs to be filled with No. 00 lithium-based grease, and the empty machine can be pumped every day to check whether the lubricating oil is unobstructed. Refill or replace the lubricating oil in time according to the requirements of the equipment manual. Focus on the lubrication of key parts such as bearings, chains, and gears to ensure that the friction between components is reduced and the operation is smooth. If the lubricating oil is found to be dirty, thin or has impurities, it needs to be replaced immediately to avoid aggravated wear of components due to poor lubrication. There was a construction site that failed to replace the deteriorated lubricating oil in time, resulting in excessive wear of the gears, and eventually the entire gear set had to be replaced, causing great economic losses.

Electrical system

After the lubrication system is maintained in place, the electrical system is the «nerve center» of the equipment operation, and its inspection is essential. The electrical system is a key part of the concrete mixer pump. Check the electrical circuit for damage and aging every day, and whether the joints are firm. If the outer skin of the circuit is found to be damaged, it should be wrapped with insulating tape or replaced with a new circuit in time. At the same time, check the electrical components in the control box, clean the dust, and ensure their normal operation. Avoid equipment shutdown caused by electrical failures and affect the construction progress.

Hydraulic system

The hydraulic system provides power for the equipment, and its maintenance should not be ignored. It is necessary to add No. 46 anti-wear hydraulic oil and check the hydraulic oil regularly to ensure that the oil volume is not lower than the minimum limit in the gauge. Check the quality of hydraulic oil regularly. If the oil quality deteriorates, emulsifies or is mixed with impurities, the hydraulic oil and filter element need to be replaced. In addition, it is also necessary to focus on checking whether the screws of the hydraulic motor are loose, and check whether there is leakage in the hydraulic pipeline. Once a leakage point or loose screws are found, repair and tighten them in time to prevent the pressure of the hydraulic system from dropping and affecting the working performance of the concrete mixer with pump.

Other key maintenance points

In addition to the above system maintenance, there are some key maintenance points that need to be paid attention to. First of all, it is necessary to ensure that there is sufficient diesel in the concrete mixing pump to avoid equipment shutdown due to insufficient fuel. The maintenance of the water tank is equally important. The water tank needs to be filled with clean water to cover the piston rod and replaced once a week to ensure the normal cooling and cleaning functions of the equipment. At the same time, regularly check and tighten the various parts of the equipment. Check the wear of the mixing blades and conveying pipelines, and replace them in time if the wear is serious. Check whether the bolts and nuts of the equipment are loose, especially the connecting bolts of the mixing drum, hopper and other parts. If loose, tighten them immediately to prevent parts from falling off and causing safety accidents. At one construction site, the mixing drum was not tightened in time, causing the mixing drum to shift during operation, which almost caused a safety accident.

Daily maintenance of concrete mixing pumps is very important. Do a good job of cleaning, lubrication and electro-hydraulic system maintenance, and control key links to ensure efficient operation of equipment, reduce construction failures, and improve economic benefits.
